Style Evolution: Art Nouveau to Art Deco
Project Type
Jewelry
Concept
An engagement ring inspired by Art Nouveau motifs was later reimagined as a companion mother’s ring in an Art Deco style, preserving emotional continuity while transforming the design language.
Design Challenge
The project required translating fluid, organic forms into structured geometry while maintaining the original three stone configuration and sentimental significance.
Technical Execution
Both pieces were developed in CAD, with careful consideration of stone proportions, setting architecture, and metal choice. The engagement ring was fabricated in platinum to support intricate, flowing forms around a natural sapphire and natural alexandrites. The mother’s ring transitioned to 14k white gold with synthetic stones, using stronger symmetry, defined edges, and architectural geometry to reflect Art Deco influence.
Outcome
The paired designs demonstrate stylistic versatility, technical precision, and the ability to evolve a core concept across life stages while preserving narrative and structural integrity.
