Jewelry Workshop Conversion

Project type

Architectural

Concept
This project transformed an existing llama barn into a fully functional custom jewelry workshop designed to support fabrication, casting preparation, finishing, and administrative workflow within a cohesive space.

Design Challenge
The structure required complete spatial reconfiguration to support specialized equipment, ventilation needs, electrical load requirements, plumbing integration, and safe workflow movement within the constraints of an existing agricultural building.

Technical Execution
I designed the full layout, including workstation placement, cabinet systems, lighting plans, electrical routing, and plumbing infrastructure to support jewelry specific processes. Workflow efficiency was prioritized by organizing fabrication, polishing, and assembly zones to reduce cross traffic and increase productivity. The majority of the physical conversion was completed hands on, including construction, installation, and build out of custom cabinetry and work surfaces.

Outcome
The finished workshop functions as a purpose built production environment tailored to jewelry fabrication, demonstrating spatial planning, systems coordination, and practical construction execution from concept through completion.
